Week #1, Free Post: A marketing expert, Philip Kotler.

I decided very early in High School what I was going to study during college. I knew that I wanted to study business, but something called even more my attention, understand all the marketing strategy that surround us every day, every where and every time, since that time I started to read and talk with people that worked or studied in the area of marketing, and they always came to me with a name, Philip Kotler.

I started to get tired of hearing his name and do not know who they were talking about, than I decided to search for Kotler as much as I could, and now I feel that I know a lot of things about this marketing expert and am able to share his name with people too.  

Philip Kotler is one of the biggest names in the marketing field, he came from Chicago, and he is now 82 years old, but still a very active name for all the marketing students or professionals. 

An interesting fact about Kotler is that he did his college, Master's and Phd in the economics field. He have a very good academic background, studied at the University of Chicago in order to get the Master degree and at The MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to develop his PhD. He also did two postdoctoral works, one in mathematics at Harvard University and the other in behavioural science at the University of Chicago. 

He has an enviable academic base but he also built an enviable list of achievements, he is the author of more than 50 marketing books that are useful from college students to CMOs (Chief Marketing Officer) and also 150 publicationsKotler books are used all over the world when it comes to marketing, he held some academics positions as a marketing professor, and is also a consultant for huge companies as IBM, General Electric, AT&T, Honeywell, Bank of America, Merck.

If you are interested in marketing I strongly advise you to look for Philip Kotler, it does not matter what time or topic you are looking for, he certainly has an answer or an advice for you. You can find more about the Father of Modern Marketing in his website http://www.pkotler.org
